Sindri was wonderful today!

At the trot, we worked on keeping a steady rhythm and soft connection, making sure he didn’t rush or tighten. He responded well to half-halts and settled into a lovely, relaxed tempo.
When we moved into canter work, we focused on smooth transitions — no anticipation or quickening before the cue and getting our right leads both ways. When we went left, he actually picked up the wrong lead, so we tried again and got it. When we went right, he picked up the right lead on the first try and did great. Sindri was a little excited after cantering, but with a few circles and slowing my posting, he came back to a nice, steady trot!

As I was sitting the canter today, I realized how long it's been since I've ridden horses on a regular basis, because my core was not very happy about Sindri's bigger horse sized stride. I'll definitely be working on strengthening my core so I can sit his canter better!

I'm also super exited because I get to take Sindri on a walk trot trail ride this weekend! I can't wait it's gonna be great!!
