Dec. 18th lease ride Training Journal Entry #12

 Sorry about the late post....

I worked sindri on the path and track for our ride on thursday. I didn't know if he'd ever been worked on the path, but it's one of my favorite spots to ride.  

He looks so cute!

we started just by walking both ways before we trotted both ways, one of the areas has a bit of rocks so we just walked through that area when we came through. We cantered twice going away from the barn (I didn't want him to get quick going towards home)

After we cantered twice once on each lead (he picked his right lead up first without me even asking for that lead) I took him out on the track so we could do a little bit more trot and canter work without coming straight towards the barn. 

We trotted a little bit to work on settling and then moved right up into right lead canter from a nice trot, he got his lead first try and we cantered a lap. After we walked  a lap and a half we did the same thing to the left, he swapped his lead out once at the end because we were bending around a puddle and it was easier for him to be on his right lead.

He did very good both ways being able to settle and then move into canter for a lap so we ended on that. Overall he did really well and I definitely think next time we ride out of the ring we can go both ways on the path.
