February 7th Jumper show 2026 -Second show-
Sorry about how late this post is... we were on vacation.
Our show was definitely really chaotic, but still had some great moments. It was also very cold and windy.
We had high jump first, it was a very small show so they didn't have enough people to do the mini high jump, so the combined the two high jumps into one and stuck it in between 18'' and 2'. At the time I wasn't quite sure if it was gonna be a good thing, or a bad thing for me and Sindri. It would either be really good that he hadn't done his courses yet, and would be a bit more on the calm side for high jump, or he would be completely crazy from doing high jump, and our courses would be a mess. Turned out I shouldn't have worried about it, we got out at 18'' in high jump, and stood in the ring while everyone else jumped.
We had our warm up round first, and we had our first refusals ever. he refused twice in our round, the first time was the second jump of a bending line, and the second one was a diagonal jump right next the the part of the bending line he refused. We made a circle after them both and hopped over the jumps fine the second try, and didn't refuse anymore in our other courses. I know you were worried about him picking up bad habits (like refusing) with having a young rider on him, he didn't refuse any more times after that, i think he was just a bit stressed in our first round.
Our two refusals in our warm-up round
After our warm up round we had optimal time first. I had to keep him extra straight coming into the bending line where he refused the first time and he went over it well, our other bending line he had a crazy moment in between the jumps, launched me on the second jump and did some baby hops afterwards.

Our next course was jump off, the course had some very challenging turns so I had to use the fence to stop him so we could walk our turn without missing a jump. We made it in clear this time and got to do the jump of portion of it and we actually placed 2nd (mainly because the 3rd rider didn't make it in...) even though it was more about surviving the course, the red ribbon matched his set.
Our power and speed course was really good, he pulled the first rail of one of the bendings and then promptly launched me over the second one. He also had some good canters coming into some of the jumps so i let him canter into a couple fences.
Our last course was the classic and it was by far our best course, and we cantered into a bunch of the jumps. He had a couple moments were he added some tiny broncs in around the turn in the bottom corner, but overall it rode really nicely.
