Lesson June 15th 2026

We started our warm-up and sindri felt very excited that it was finally cooler out for our ride, he had a very big marching walk and hopped straight into a big floaty trot. we did some bending work in our warm-up, inside bend on the long sides outside bend on the short sides, he was a little bit more stiff to the right when we started but he softened throughout our warm-up.

We cantered a lap and a half each way changing direction across the diagonal with a simple change, he was very good for that.

We started our exercise by just cantering up the outside line in 5 strides, both jumps were set at 2'. Then the next time we went through we added in a sharp turn to a short diagonal, I didn't realize quite how short it was so I had to make a circle and come back to it.

We did that once more without the circle before adding in the rest of the course. He would get very quick/excited coming off of the short diagonal so that was something we worked on. Our final course was up the outside line, sharp turn to the short diagonal bending to the first of the outside coming towards the barn and then around to a final diagonal away from the barn.

sorry the last jump is cut off the video was too long

He would come flying down the bending line and shoot around through the turn to the final jump, so we had to use the turn to settle. The last time we did it we broke it into a bit more pieces getting the first two lines to ride smoothly and then adding in the last jump when he settled down.

We haven't jumped a course higher than X-rails in a while so I definitely think that's part of the reason he was getting so quick, we're definitely going to get my lessons separate from Chai so that we can prepare for the July jumper show and focus more on what Sindri needs, we have had a couple separate lessons, but i'm hoping more will help us.
